The proposed FY 2020 budget shortchanges all DCPS schools, but particularly schools in Wards 7 and 8, which have the largest concentration of low-income students of color.

Without adequate investment in project-based rental assistance, projects built using the Housing Production Trust Fund increase won’t be made affordable to extremely low-income residents.

By increasing access to public restrooms, the District can be a friendlier place for tourists, children and their caretakers, residents with illnesses and disabilities, and residents experiencing homelessness.
DC needs to take more action to correct the impacts of decades of systemic racism. The DC Council can take meaningful steps now, as they work on the FY 2020 budget, to move DC towards a more equitable future.
