Economic Security Solutions for DC Residents: A Half-Day Conference

Register Here
Amidst the devastating impacts of the coronavirus pandemic, the United States came together to support the economic well-being of all residents in an unprecedented way. Programs to support family incomes and housing stability led to a deep reduction in poverty and a stop to evictions. But those programs have now all ended, and now evictions are at a 10-year high last year, and food insecurity affects 30,000 residents.
UPO’s half-day conference will explore the latest information on the economic well-being of DC residents amidst these trends. We’ll engage partners – the Urban Institute, the DC Fiscal Policy Institute, DC Hunger Solutions, and others – to understand why economic instability is on the rise in DC. And we’ll explore innovative policies to bring economic stability to more DC residents.
