Media Advisory: DC Fiscal Policy Institute Hosts Briefing on Funding Equity in DC Schools

Event will Include Presentation on Four DCFPI Research Papers Followed by Panel Discussion with Educators, Parents

Washington, DC—Following the release of the fourth and final report in a series on increasing equity in the District’s education budget, the DC Fiscal Policy Institute (DCFPI) will host a briefing Friday, February 28. Education Policy Analysts Qubilah Huddleston and Alyssa Noth will present their research and share how policymakers can build a better public education budget. The presentation will be followed by a panel conversation with educators and parents, moderated by Amanda Gomez of the Washington City Paper.   

What: Budgeting for Educational Equity: A Roadmap for DC is an opportunity for the public to hear DCFPI’s proposed solutions to the city’s problems with adequacy and equity, to ensure every student thrives.
