DCFPI Welcomes Marlana Wallace to Our Team!

We’re happy to introduce you to Marlana Wallace, DCFPI’s newest policy analyst! She’s excited to begin analyzing DC’s Pre-K12 education finance policies and advocating to improve outcomes for low-income children in the District.

Marlana joins our team after spending more than three years working on state level tax and budget policy. Most recently, she worked for DCFPI’s parent organization, The Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, where she researched education finance, state and local tax policy, state Earned Income Tax Credits, and state policies that affect immigrants.

Prior to that, she lived in Colorado, advancing more equitable state policies in her work with the Colorado Fiscal Institute, and volunteering in her spare time for a campaign to raise revenue for public schools. Early in her career, Marlana advocated to improve expanded learning time programs, served as an assistant teacher, and contributed to academic research on parent-school relations. She earned an undergraduate degree in sociology from Colorado College.

Welcome Marlana!
